Beware of videos and other shady content that allegedly features the singer

Cybercriminals are eagerly waiting for incidents such as the one that involves pop star Justin Bieber’s stolen laptop and camera.

The singer admitted that there was some “personal footage” stored on the device and many immediately started speculating that an adult video may soon be leaked.

These kinds of rumors are a perfect opportunity for fraudsters and cybercriminals to step into play. This means that a number of shady social media posts allegedly pointing to a scandalous video are likely to emerge these days.

We would like to take this opportunity to advise internauts to be on the lookout for Facebook or Twitter posts advertising possibly outrageous content featuring Justin Bieber.

Scammers could also re-launch the old “Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez video” scheme that was intensely making the rounds back in February, or the cross-platform Pinterest scam that was spotted in April.
