Justin Bieber performs on X Factor live results show, sets girls’ pulses racing

Canadian teen sensation, fresh off his success at the 2010 American Music Awards where he managed to beat Lady Gaga for Artist of the Year, was on X Factor last night, the live results show. Cue the screaming.

As the video below will confirm, the pop star performed a medley of two of his biggest hits to date, “Somebody to Love” and “Baby,” while also doing a very energetic dance routine.

Accompanied by an all-male troupe of dancers and dressed in a black leather jacket, sneakers and jeans, The Biebs took to the stage as members in the audience (mostly female) screamed at the top of their lungs.

It wasn’t until halfway through the set that the screaming subsided a bit, though it still was loud enough to drown Justin’s voice at certain points. Luckily, the pop star must already be accustomed to that by now.

After he performed, Justin talked a bit with host Dermot O’Leary and even took some time to openly flirt with judge Cheryl Cole, who was clearly taken by surprise by the advances made on her.

“I wasn’t that nervous. I was pretty cool, pretty calm, pretty collected,” Justin said when Dermot asked him whether he was nervous at the thought of performing in front of Simon Cowell, whose reputation of a meanie precedes him.

Justin then thanked all his fans for being so supportive of him and making it possible for him to get as far as he did. Afterwards, he went on to more personal business.

“I want to say hello to Cheryl Cole, hello,” Bieber said, smiling and waving his hand at Cheryl, who sat stunned in her chair. She then started laughing, as Dermot admired Justin’s courage for doing what he just did, even if only in jest.

“Cracking on to Cheryl Cole. What a precocious young man,” the host said, right before Justin made for Cheryl the “call me” hand gesture.
