Justin Bieber has a lot of thanking to do to his legal team for basically getting him out of his many pickles with the law, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't have to fork over some dough for choosing to party when he was supposed to be in court.

Radar is saying that the pop artist is getting slapped with an $11,500 (€8,364) fine by Judge Sarah Zabel for missing a deposition in January because he chose to instead jet to Miami for a little bit of fun.

And fun he had. If you remember correctly, he eventually got arrested while allegedly drag racing on the streets of Miami also being charged with DUI and driving with an expired license. He's managed to clear all those charges with a plea deal that only saw him confessing to reckless driving and a one-year probation.

But back on January 23 he had a deposition in Los Angeles to attend, related to the assault lawsuit in which his bodyguard was accused of attacking Miami photographer Jeffrey Binion and roughing him up.

So while Binion's lawyer, Mark DiCowden flew out to California and prepared to state his case, he was announced that Justin Bieber won't be making the deposition. As luck had it, on the very same day he was supposed to be deposed, January 23, he was arrested by Miami police.

DiCowden tries to file an emergency motion to stop the deposition, but the judge denied it and Justin was listed as MIA. As a consequence, Justin is now forced to pay DiCowden's legal fees and also for the four days that he spent in Los Angeles for the deposition that he missed.

The total amounts to $11,500 (€8,364), which Justin's lawyers have agreed to pay. “We agreed to pay a reasonable fee for his time because Justin didn’t appear at the deposition. Justin was otherwise detained at the time,” said Roy Black, Bieber's attorney.

This is the same deposition that eventually was leaked on the internet and which saw Justin acting bratty and self-entitled, mostly refusing to cooperate. It looks like DiCowden finally got Justin to sit down but he didn't get him to spill the beans on the incident.

That's why it's being rumored that Justin's then-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, has been subpoenaed to also give a deposition in the case of the photographer assault, as she is considered to be able to give crucial information of the Canadian singer.

In the meantime, Roy Black has dismissed the entire matter by saying “the lawsuit is without merit. The plaintiff admits in his deposition that he suffered no injuries beyond the so-called ‘emotional distress.”
