Just Cause 3, the next open-world sandbox experience from Avalanche Studios and Square Enix, enhances the gameplay of its very successful predecessor by adding the new wingsuit while improving the grapple to tether multiple items at the same time.

Just Cause 3 was revealed to the world last year, after plenty of rumors and reports. Since then, developer Avalanche studios has shared a few loose details, confirming that protagonist Rico is traveling to a fictional island in the Mediterranean Sea, to once again cause havoc and bring down a fierce dictator.

Fans were able to enjoy the first full gameplay video earlier this week and now the studio confirms on the website a few interesting aspects of its upcoming open world shooter, starting with the fresh wingsuit and the improved grapple.

The new wingsuit complements the enhanced grapple

First up, the new wingsuit is a great complement to the already fantastic parachute and grapple, according to Avalanche. Players will be able to traverse the Mediterranean island much more easily with these three tools as slingshotting through tunnels and caves, while gliding under bridges is going to be quite easy.

What's more, the old grapple has been improved somewhat, as it can now tether up to things at once. This leads to fresh opportunities for destruction, according to Avalanche, so fans are invited to attempt all sorts of crazy scenarios.

"Rico’s grapple has taken a huge step forward, with one of the biggest new features being the ability to tether up to 5 things together in the world, taking the creative destruction that made Just Cause 2 such a success to a whole new level. Tether towers to the ground and haul them down, create car catapults, hang buses from helicopters and use them as battering rams to smash down statues – your imagination really is the only limit," the studio says.

Besides tethering more items at the same time, Just Cause 3 players will also be able to use a "reeled hang" position when grappling onto the underside of choppers, planes, or other flying vehicles.

You can expect to hear and see much more of Just Cause 3 as we get closer to its debut on PC, PS4, and Xbox One later this year.
