Just Cause 2 Multiplayer was named best both by the community as well as by the editors

The Mod DB community has finished voting for the Mod of the Year 2013 competition. The results show Just Cause 2: Multiplayer mod to be the clear winner, in spite of some heavy competition.

Coincidentally, the Just Cause 2: Multiplayer mod was also at the top of the Mod of the Year 2013 Editors’ Choice list, praising the impressive feat of adding support for so many players to a game that was never built with multiplayer in mind.

Over the course of its 22-day campaign, Mod DB has received more than 140K votes from the community and has registered more than 13.5 million views.

The first 10 days saw the making of a preliminary list of 100 titles, based on popularity, and the next 10 days had the nominated mods duke it out in order for a victor to emerge.

The official Mod of the Year 2013 announcement brought to light the final top 10 list:

Honorable mentions went to Black Mesa (Half Life 2), DayZ (Arma 2), MISERY (STALKER: Call of Pripyat), Third Age – Total War (Medieval II: Total War: Kingdoms), Company of Heroes: Eastern Front (Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts), The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II) and Forgotten Hope 2 (Battlefield 2).
