At 48 and mother of two children, Julia Louis-Dreyfus is looking better than ever. Moreover, she tells Shape magazine, she did not have plastic surgery at all to look this good, as it’s all about leading a healthy life and enjoying it as much as she can. Hard rock abs and skin as smooth as that of a 20-year-old are possible, as the actress shows – and she’s more than willing to share her tricks with every woman out there.

As noted above, Julia Louis-Dreyfus did not have surgery anywhere on her body to make her look younger. As a matter of fact, she is completely opposed to the idea at this very moment, although she does not deny that there may come a day when she too will see the doctor for a little nip and tuck.

The actress’ secret is a healthy lifestyle, which implies being careful about what she eats and getting plenty of exercise. The trick to actually getting it is, as Julia reveals, cheating every now and then.

Julia admittedly “works hard at not being fat.” She starts her day with a healthy breakfast, which is one of the key points to a good nutrition. Her daily meals also include a big salad no matter what, but that does not mean that she’s the kind of woman who is always picking on her food and barely eating anything.

On the contrary, the actress acknowledges the importance of enjoying life’s smallest pleasures as well. “I have a huge sweet tooth, and I feel like I deserve a treat when I work hard. It’s important to give yourself a little of what you really want so you don’t feel like you’re in food prison. Eating in moderation keeps me sane.” the actress explains for the magazine.

Be that as it may, her well defined abs also come with working out, which Julia tries to do three to five times a week. When she’s not working on her elliptical at home in front of the TV, the actress is taking long hikes, which are also a means of unwinding and relaxing after work. “There’s something about the ritual of moving forward along a trail, pausing every now and then to look at the view or smell a flower. It’s a physical escape as well as a mental one.” she points out.

As weird as it may sound, Julia Louis-Dreyfus believes she has found the all-too-elusive fountain of youth: a healthy life that she also enjoys living, next to her loved ones.
