There's nothing better to do on these cold January days than speculate about the next “Star Wars” episode. Today, we have another casting rumor for you, if you are to believe recent reports from the media.

Believe it or not, but Dame Judi Dench is being considered for one of the most unlikely roles from the entire cast. According to a report by Big Shiny Robot, the actress is being eyed for the role of Mon Mothma.

For those of you with a weak knowledge of “Star Wars” trivia, Mon Mothma was the rebel leader who helped orchestrate the attack against the second Death Star.

While there's not a lot of evidence to back up this latest rumor, Dench has made a successful transition to action films, having played M on the spy series “James Bond,” and actually pulled it off gracefully.

From that point of view, it wouldn't be that far fetched to see her as a rebel captain; in fact, it would even be fun to watch her put a new spin on things.

In more factual news, director J.J. Abrams has just announced the completion of the script for “Star Wars Episode VII” and has confirmed that shooting for the film will begin in London later this year, in May.
