Joseph Gordon-Levitt shows off gash he sustained after being hit by a cab while shooting for next film

He’s considered one of the most talented, prolific and overlooked by mainstream media actors of today. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who already boasts an impressive resume having started his acting career when he was just a boy, can now be seen in Chris Nolan’s much-hyped “Inception” – and will star next as a bike messenger in “Premium Rush.” While shooting a scene for his latest flick, the actor was hit by a cab.

Joseph and the cast were in New York, shooting a scene in which his character is being chased by a dirty policeman when he was hit by a taxi and he went straight through the rear window of the vehicle. What’s more, the entire scene is documented, as the actor had someone shoot him as he proudly showed off his wound – a gash on his arm that required 31 stitches – and explained how the accident was actually his own fault.

“Busted through the rear window of a cab. Luckily got my elbows up. Coulda been way worse. No, but it was my fault, I was going too fast. Wanna see a lot of my blood? 31 stitches today… :oD (caution gore). The director, Dave Koepp, was extremely concerned for my well-being, but I made him RECord the wound. Anyway, Premium Rush is gonna be awesome,” the actor wrote on his blog, where he also posted the video of the wound. Luckily, he was wearing protection gear and he didn’t end up with more serious injuries.

In fact, the way he handles the entire thing has just earned him more points with his ever-growing fan base and the media. Not that he’d need them, to speak the truth, since reaction to his latest projects (“(500) Days of Summer,” “Inception”) has been more than enough to make him one of the most popular actors of the moment. Actually, he’s so popular right now that he’s even being considered for the part of The Riddler in the next installment of “Batman,” which would mean he’d get to work with Chris Nolan again, as we also reported a while back.

“We’ve gotten word from a reliable inside source with a studio casting grid that The Riddler is listed as a character for Chris Nolan’s highly anticipated to the sequel to The Dark Knight, which is still called Batman 3 at Warner Bros. Even more interesting, the actor currently listed in the same grid to play the assumed villain is none other than Joseph Gordon-Levitt, whose status is just listed as ‘interested.’ Let’s all say it together now: Hell. Yes!” FirstShowing reported towards the end of last month.
