14 DAY TRIAL // Kate Gosselin’s planned yard sale, which helped her get rid of her old stuff, collect some money to put aside for the kids, and give something back to a good cause as well, had a solid turnout, according to reports.
In fact, seeing how ex-husband Jon Gosselin was also there, it had more than a solid turnout: it was downright surprising.
Still, don’t rush into thinking these two are getting back together anytime soon, or for that matter, putting their differences aside for the sake of the kids.
Kate and Jon Gosselin still hate each other
They were once the hottest couple in reality television, but things took a definite turn for the worse in 2009, when they got divorced. In between fighting behind closed doors, they also made their feuding public by issuing statements attacking the other, either personally or for their parenting decisions.
By the time the divorce was finalized, Jon was broke and out of a job on reality television (because he got himself fired from TLC when he tried to get his 8 kids with Kate off the show as well), hated by everyone, and forced to try and go off the grid by moving out of the town.
Kate got her fair share of negative media attention as well, but she got full custody of the children and the house, and seemed comparatively in a better place post-divorce. Judging by reports, also by that time, they had come to hate each other with a passion.
They still do.
Even though Jon was spotted at Kate’s yard sale, which, in turn, sparked rumors that they might be putting their differences aside for the kids or even contemplating getting back together to see if the chemistry was still there, insiders tell Radar Online that the explanation for his being there is just as surprising as his presence was.
He merely wanted to get back some of his stuff he never got around to reclaim, the tipster claims. “Jon and Kate are definitely not on good terms,” adds the spy, just for good measure.
Jon still wants his children off TV
Kate is shooting a new TLC special right now, which means that cameras must have been on hand for the yard sale too. Meanwhile, Jon is said to be in hell at the thought that his children, of whom he once said they had developmental problems because of the increased exposure to the camera since a very early age, will be back on TV.
He wants full custody of all 8 children even though he’s been evicted from his house and is now living in a small apartment that’s not even suitable for their regular visits. The problem is that he doesn’t have the money he needs to go after Kate in court, because she has the means to get all lawyered up and put one heck of a fight, if need be.
The aforementioned report claims that he’s still thinking of ways to raise the money and set the legal wheels in motion for this. If cameras were on the scene at the yard sale, he’s most definitely getting a cut from TLC for his cameo. Maybe he can set that aside and have something to start from.
