14 DAY TRIAL // Only a few more days to go until the start of Hacker’s Dome – First Blood, the 48-hour capture-the-flag competition launched by CTF365.
Hacker’s Dome – First Blood is the first in a series of weekend CTF competitions organized by CTF365, a company that promotes IT security training through gamification mechanics. Unlike other CTFs, the CTF365 platform enables hackers to try out their skills at any time, all year round.
Hacker’s Dome, which is a beginner/intermediate level competition, starts on May 17 at 15:00 UTC and ends on May 19 15:00 UTC. Organizers promise a lot of great prizes, including WiFi Pineapple Mark V bundles, premium access to the CTF365 platform, and customized merchandise.
Prizes are worth a total of over $6,000 (€4,350). However, this doesn’t include the raffle sponsored by Rapid7.
Even those who don’t win at First Blood will get the chance to win a one-year license for Metasploit Pro. Four Raspberry PIs, Hacker’s Dome hats and Hacker’s Dome t-shirts can also be won in the raffle.
So what do you have to do if you want to take part in Hacker’s Dome – First Blood? All you need is a Bronze account, and you can take part in the weekend CTF for free.
Those who have Basic (free) accounts must upgrade to a Bronze account, which costs $46 (around €33) per month. With free accounts users can only access some vulnerable-by-design servers. By purchasing a Bronze account, infosec experts and enthusiasts also gain access to the CTF365 main arena, where they can go head-to-head with other teams from all over the world.
Last week, CTF365 introduced a new type of map for regular customers. The new map will enable participants to view attacks in real time.
