As hype is building up for the Michael Bay-produced reboot of the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” there is some new potentially awesome news that will get fans even more excited. This is the fact that one of the half-shelled heroes is going to be voiced by Johnny Knoxville.

Deadline reports in an exclusive that the “Jackass” actor is going to be lending his voice to Leonardo in the new action movie, which might end up making him sound like Bad Grandpa, a recurring character in his many pranks.

The other voice casting news is about the pint-sized sensei for the turtles, the rat they call Splinter, which is going to be voiced by Tony Shalhoub, the man who starred in the TV series “Monk.”

The odd thing is that, on the set, Leonardo was actually played by Pete Ploszek and Splinter was played by “Seinfeld” actor DannyWoodburn and it's rumored that they were both aware of the fact that their voices might be eventually replaced by the studio. The rest of the turtles were played by motion-capture actor Alan Ritchson.

Considering the fact that both Megan Fox and Will Arnett have been called back for reshoots, it's likely that the entire movie is undergoing at least a partial overhaul until its scheduled release date in August.
