The rumors that there is a Tupac Shakur biopic in the making have just become reality. The project is moving forward and news has just emerged that John Singleton will be taking over in the director's chair.

Singleton is famous for his directorial debut “Boyz N The Hood” which came out in 1991. The director got a chance to actually work with the rapper back in 1993, on the movie “Poetic Justice,” in which Tupac starred alongside Janet Jackson.

This means that Singleton has first-hand information on Tupac that can be used to portray him on screen more accurately. The rapper was known for his outspoken personality, as well as his lyrics.

He rose to fame early on and was already an accomplished rapper by the age of 25 when he died. He has started an acting career and was already generating positive reviews. Tupac died in 1996 after he was shot in Las Vegas.

His biopic project is still in the early process, and has yet to receive a title. The attention now turns to Singleton as Tupac's many fans hope that he will do justice to the late rapper's memory and be able to transpose his controversial personality on screen.
