As rumors about John Mayer's new single “Paper Doll” being about Taylor Swift flare up, the singer is interviewed on the “Today Show” and he doesn't exactly deny them.

In fact, he suggests that the rumors are true by saying that anyone can interpret the lyrics as they wish. He also talks about his past vocal issues and getting over them.

“Songwriters write songs because of people, about people. Anything someone else wrote is their reception of a song. I don't get involved in it. It's none of my business,” he says, in a statement relayed by E!.

As previously reported, it was one specific lyric containing the number “22” that got everyone wondering.

“You're like 22 girls in one / and none of them know what they're running from,” he sings.

Watch the interview above and don't hesitate to comment if you think that the song refers to Swift.
