They also require that the hearing not be broadcasted live

The Jodi Arias defense team are motioning for a change in venue where the next stage of the trial is concerned. They want the sentencing hearing to be held out of Phoenix.

As I mentioned before, Arias stands to be sentenced and she could be awarded the death penalty. Life in prison is also on the table for the woman convicted of murdering boyfriend Travis Alexander in 2008. The guilty verdict was laid out on May 8.

Daily Mail relays that her lawyers are arguing that the media has created a bias against Arias. Local news outlets are targeted by this statement, particularly those in Maricopa County.

Apparently, 70 percent of stories about Arias during the first trial have been aired or printed in the county.

The motion was filed on Tuesday, and attorneys are also asking that live broadcasting of the trial be banned.
