Video game developer Owlchemy Labs is announcing that it is working on a new title called Job Simulator, which is designed to be launched on the newly revealed Vive virtual reality headset from both Valve and HTC and will be playable for all those who attend the Game Developers Conference this week.

The official announcement from the studio claims that the team has been following development of the VR field since the Oculus Rift gathered money on Kickstarter and they have been working on the new title in secret for the past five months.

The company adds, "It’s thrilling to play a part in the upcoming explosion of consumer VR and we’re proud to add another amazing opportunity to the list by being one of only a few select developers building content for some of the most incredible VR hardware in the world."

Owlchemy Labs has not offered too many details about Job Simulator for Vive, but it seems that the title will be designed to allow players to experience some careers while being directly immersed in the activities.

It's unclear whether the title will be sold only on the new device from Valve and HTC or there are also plans to offer it on other platforms, like the Oculus Rift.

Vive features new tech, eliminates jitters

The new Vive device is set to be launched for consumers before the end of the year and will deliver an initial developer version in the spring, to allow other studios to create their own experiences for it.

Valve and HTC are saying that they will deliver a 1,200x1,080 display for each eye, with new technology designed to eliminate the traditional problems associated with virtual reality included.

New tech will also be used to track the movement of the player's head more accurately and to see how they are exploring the real world.

The two companies are saying that the new device will offer more immersive experiences and a number of titles will probably be revealed at GDC.

No price has yet been announced for the platform and it's unclear how many titles it will support when it launches.

Vive is set to compete with Oculus Rift, the first VR device which captured the imagination of the public, and the Project Morpheus that Sony is developing for the PlayStation 4.
