Cybercriminals follow the job boards and then contact their potential victims offering them a great position at a company.

Compliance Circle came across one of these scams that pretended to come from a bank, offering the recipient a contract job for 6 to 12 months at a prestigious financial institution.

The body of the hoax message reads:

We are glad to inform you that after examining your resume we came to the conclusion that you are qualified much for this position: ' Financial Assistant'.

Financial Assistant takes part in commercial interactions between potential customers and our company. The job is related to remote internet operations. Every payment order will be accompanied by detailed instructions.

It is also the duty to interact and report all the details of every action you take to our manager. The brief training course is enclosed. To be successful in this role you will need to be an energetic and flexible person with strong computing skills.

Then the victim is asked to download an attachment that contains a contract in which he will have to complete personal and bank details.

It's interesting how crooks will rely on any information they can get their hands on to earn our trust.

As an advice, to make sure your job resumes are not used for any illegal activities, limit your personal information in the document when publishing it to boards. Also, check out the name of the company. If you haven't applied for a job or if you never got into contact with their representatives, the offer is most likely a hoax.

Finally, offers that sound too good to be true, usually are. As I stated many times before, nothing is free. No one will give you great products or pointers on how to make big money in return for your time or just a few clicks.
