Joan Rivers stands by the comments she made on David Letterman a short while ago: Adele is fat. This means she has two choices: either she calms down and no longer takes offense when people call her that, or she loses weight.

The new round of smarting comments comes from an interview with The Huffington Post Live. The comedienne says she has nothing to apologize for where Adele is concerned.

She admits that Adele is gorgeous and very talented but, at the same time, there is no ignoring the fact that she has a weight problem.

“It's not mean. She's a chubby lady who's very, very rich, and she should just calm down – or lose weight! She wanted an apology, so I took an ad out on her [butt]. I said, ‘You are not fat.’ And then I had room for a lot of other ads,” Rivers said during the interview.

“Adele is beautiful and successful and has what, $100 million [€78.1 million]? Let's face reality: she's fat!” the comedienne quipped.
