This is certainly going to explode into a full-on feud if Lena Dunham decides to pick up the gauntlet that Joan Rivers has just thrown in her face. The sharp-tongued comedian took to Howard Stern's show on Sirius XM on Tuesday, March 25 and she had a few things to say about Lena Dunham body-positive message to other girls that it was OK to be fat.

The usually vocal Rivers literally eviscerated Dunham on the radio by claiming that the “Girls” actress is promoting an unhealthy body image for all the other women out there. “Let me ask you something. Lena Dunham, who again I think is terrific, how could she wear dresses above the knee?,” she bluntly began her argument, quoted by Us Weekly.

The host of the show, Howard Stern, a man that has a known controversial side, tried arguing that you should not care what other people think about your looks, but Rivers cut him off right there “Oh, every woman gives a [expletive].”

The 80-year-old Rivers, who is still an E! Fashion Police host, proceeded to explain her unusually tough position towards this issue, “You are sending a message out to people saying, ‘It's okay! Stay fat! Get diabetes. Everybody die! Lose your fingers.’”

Stern then replied that society should not focus on her weight but should celebrate the fact that Lena is not plastic or filled with Botox. This was probably a direct jab at Rivers, who has had numerous procedures done that include Botox in order to maintain her youthful appearance.

But Joan casually brushed it aside, pretending that she didn't make the connection, “Then don't go on Vogue's cover and -- here we go again -- going on Vogue's cover and looking gorgeous. I didn't know it was her. I'm on fire over hypocrisy.”

She is referring to an incident that took place last month, when Dunham made the cover of Vogue, and she was blasted for being altered in the photos. The scandal took on proportion and the website Jezebel actually offered several thousands of dollars for anyone who could provide the unedited photos.

It later turned out that the photos had suffered only the slightest modifications, but the actress still came under fire for having resorted to such methods.

“I love that she's funny and love that she's done well. But don't let them laugh at you physically,” Rivers fumed. “If you look the way you look, Lena, and that's fine and you're funny, don't say it's okay that other girls can look like this. Try to look better,” she concluded her heated argument.

Dunham came under serious media attention after she appeared in a scene on the HBO hit series “Girls” without any clothes on. People immediately reacted, some praising the actress for her courage to bear all when she doesn't have the perfect figure, while others, like Rivers, claimed that she could do with a little weight loss.
