Jimmy Fallon is set to take over The Tonight Show from Jay Leno on February 17, but until then, he had to say goodbye to his own program, The Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon. While still a sentimental affair, his goodbye was nowhere as tearful as Leno's.

The comedic host chose to employ the help of the lovable Muppets for a final song on the show. Kermit, Miss Piggy and Gonzo performed their own version of “The Weight” by The Band, with Fallon on the drums.

At the end of the song, Fallon gets up from the drums and begins walking towards the exit as a camera follows him and one of the Muppets prompts “where's he going?” As Fallon exits through the studio door, a huge crowd of cheering people is there to welcome him, an indication that this is not the end, it's a beginning.

Meanwhile, Jay Leno was seen off the show by a host of celebrities headed by Billy Crystal who performed the “So Long Farewell” song from “The Sound of Music.” At the end, he gave a short speech to audiences with tears welling up in his eyes, expressing regret that his 22-year stint had come to an end.
