Uggs, no matter how derided and held as the epitome of ugly shoes (right there, next to crocs) by fashion critics, have one thing that many other shoes don’t: the advantage of being unbelievably comfortable. Now, prestigious brand Jimmy Choo has teamed up with Ugg Australia to bring a new dimension to comfort and style with a new line that will debut in October – just in time for next winter, Women’s Wear Daily informs.

Since Uggs have a very solid reputation as far as comfort goes, the upcoming Jimmy Choo line will also capitalize on that. What will make these shoes stand out from the crowd, aside from the impressive price tag that will go, for some models, as high up as $800, is the fact that they will represent a more stylish variant to the classic one. That is to say, Uggs are finally becoming fashionable next winter.

“After the pair announced plans last week to bow a co-branded, limited-edition collection in October, retailers cheered the partnership. ‘Jimmy Choo and Ugg were the Nordstrom Partners in Excellence recipients last year, our most cherished supplier award, so we are thrilled to have two of our best partners join forces for one of the most innovative design collaborations in the fashion industry,” said Jack Minuk, GMM of shoes at Nordstrom’,” WWS writes of how the partnership was received by footwear retailers.

In all fairness, they have enough reasons to rejoice and be amazed at the surprise marriage of two brands that are so utterly different. Yet, it was precisely this that both Choo and Ugg were after when they first started thinking about the collaboration, as theirs would become an effort to make two lifestyles meet into just one product. This is, indeed, a very tough challenge ahead, but both brands are confident they’re up to the task.

“The five-style Ugg & Jimmy Choo collection, in multiple color variations, will be available in both brands’ stores and on their Websites, as well as in select retailers globally. While the brands were mum on design specifics, they said the styles will incorporate the construction of Ugg’s sheepskin boots with design details that embody the spirit of Jimmy Choo. The line will retail from $595 to $795,” WWD goes on to say about the upcoming line.
