14 DAY TRIAL // In April last year, Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy split after about 5 years together. The other night, Hollywood’s favorite funnyman stepped out with his new girlfriend, Anchal Joseph, the 24-year-old model from America’s Next Top Model.
The two went on a regular date in New York the other night, being pictured as they left a theater hand in hand, as the photo attached will confirm. They saw the play “Time Stands Still.”
They made no attempt at hiding their faces, though it was clear by the looks on them they were not happy to be spotted by the paparazzi.
Since Carrey has kept a very low profile as regards his romantic interests since the split from McCarthy and given that Anchal is 25 years his junior, rumor of the new romance instantly made headlines.
TMZ’s Too Fab did a little digging around to see how the two met – and it turns out the relationship was purely professional at first, since she’s an extra on his latest movie.
“Sources tell Too Fab that Joseph, 24, who appeared on the seventh season of Top Model, met Carrey on the set of his comedy ‘Mr. Popper’s Penguins.’ Joseph is an extra in the film, appearing in a scene in the movie with other models,” the e-zine writes.
“Joseph may be busy juggling a relationship and her career: Two other projects in the works include a role on Halogen TV’s ‘Nobel Exchange,’ as well as a role in director Garry Marshall’s film ‘New Year’s Eve,’ a sequel to ‘Valentine’s Day.’,” Too Fab further reports.
As for the film on whose set Carrey and Joseph met – and presumably fell in love – Too Fab says it’s now shooting in NYC, with a June release date set. It “is about a businessman who inherits six penguins, and transforms his apartment into a winter wonderland.”
