Kicking off 2011 with a hearty laugh, Saturday Night Live has just recorded a new high in ratings since the 2008 Betty White and Jay Z episode, thanks to Jim Carrey. Given the Oscar buzz around “Black Swan,” Carrey brought out his own ballet dancer for a hilarious spoof.

As MTV News and the video below will confirm, while Carrey’s swan was more of a headless chicken than anything, he certainly did send the message across that “Once you go Black Swan…”

Accordingly, reaction to the spoof has been most extraordinary, with specialized media outlets and, most importantly, fans saying that this is by far the best SNL episode in years.

The “Black Swan” spoof sees Carrey doing the character of Lily, originally played in the film by Mila Kunis.(S)he’s out to get Nina’s part because, we immediately learn, Nina is a great White Swan but a very lame Black one.

Carrey is “playing gawky, hissing, squawking ballet dancer Lily to Nasim Pedrad’s icily insecure Nina,” MTV writes.

“Carrey strutted into the studio in a stiff, black tutu, saying, ‘Sorry I’m late. I had to go numbers 3 and 4’,” the same publication writes. The moment he steps in, it becomes crystal clear that the spoof will be way above average.

“After shedding his jacket to reveal chicken-wing-like tattoos on his shoulder blades and putting his fellow dancers on alert, announcing, ‘Get ready to rock, [expletive],’ Carrey began to clumsily flail about, looking much more like a fowl in distress than a graceful swan,” MTV notes.

Yet the Black Swan not only impresses the director, but she also manages to seduce him, a thing that the White Swan remains incapable of doing.

Carrey also gets the chance to bust a few karate moves to show how his Swan is “dangerous,” while also proving how good she’s with the tongue by sticking gum in the director’s ear.

Below is the hilarious “Black Swan” spoof with Jim Carrey. Enjoy but *be advised that discretion is recommended for some strong language.
