As announced several weeks back, Jessica Simpson has made her big reveal (i.e. her post-pregnancy, slimmer body) on Katie Couric’s new show. Fragments from the interview are embedded below, at the end of this article.

Jessica is no stranger to media scrutiny where her weight is concerned, so she’s not exaggerating when she’s saying that “there’s a lot of pressure” for her to get back in top shape.

While she’s trying hard to shut all this noise out, Jessica is making progress – just don’t expect her transformation to happen overnight.

Having already lost 40 pounds (18.1 kg), Jessica says she’d be more than happy if she could shed an extra 10 pounds (4.5 kg), but she’s not rushing into it.

Her focus, she insists, is on her health and enjoying this wonderful new stage in her life, that of being a mommy.

In the same interview, Simpson also explains that she might have gained more weight than she should have had on the wrong assumption that all those extra pounds would just magically disappear once the baby was born.

“During pregnancy, I didn’t really think about it. I thought my doctors were telling me that it was just a lot of water and whenever my water broke my whole entire stomach would go down but that did not happen,” Jessica says of her weight gain.

“All the weight did not come out with the baby,” she adds with a laugh.

Right now, she’s working out whenever she gets the chance and is sticking to the Weight Watchers program.

“I basically take her with me, whether it’s strapping her on me or strolling around the neighborhood,' she said. My new goal is 14,000 steps a day,” the star explains.

“I’ve never wanted chocolate more in my life. I’ve had to really stay focused and focus on my diet and concentrate on what I’m putting in my body. You have to track every bit, and you can't get away with the bites because they add up,” Jessica says of her new diet.

“You have to be completely honest with yourself, and I think just creating that relationship of honesty with yourself is so good,” she adds.

Jessica Simpson is the official spokesperson for Weight Watchers. Her first ad for the weight loss program is now out.
