In tune with the idea behind her upcoming television show, “The Price of Beauty,” Jessica Simpson is making a point of telling the entire world that true beauty comes from the inside and it doesn’t necessarily have to fit the industry’s standards. Howard Stern saying of “Precious” actress Gabourey Sidibe that she was huge, ugly and not someone we’re likely to see in another film is the worst example of how the industry puts some women down, Simpson believes, as E! Online informs.

Stern made these remarks (though not in the exact same words) on his radio show earlier this week and, understandably, they managed to kick up quite a storm online. Jessica Simpson too believes Stern was being judgmental only for the sake of getting free publicity, for she personally believes Gabourey is a gorgeous woman. Of course, it’s clear that the actress has a problem with her weight but that’s not to say she’s not beautiful or that she should be bashed because of it, the singer says.

“I’m actually surprised somebody had the cojones to say that. I just think that’s really disrespectful. It’s unfortunate because she walked the red carpet at the Oscars and she owned it. She was beautiful. There was no denying that she did not think she was the most beautiful person on that red carpet. She was just owning that moment for herself. She had such confidence and I absolutely 100 percent think she could get anything in the world that she wants,” Simpson explains for the publication.

Given the intense media attention Jessica got a few months back, she should know what she’s talking about, which is why she’s not letting it bring her down anymore. “I don’t care how harsh the criticism is, you’re not going to take me down. I’m going to get back up and fight. I’m not going to let anybody’s opinions destroy me. After all the public scrutiny that I went through in the past year, I felt I was just stripped of everything. I got curves! I can’t get rid of them. There ain’t no getting rid of them. At this point, I just celebrate them… I’m a healthy girl. I work out. I box. I try to eat right. […] Just as long as I feel good about myself and if I feel healthy, I feel beautiful,” she explains.

As we also informed you the other day, Stern said that Sidibe was the biggest “fat black chick” he’d ever seen walk the red carpet at the Oscars and that, instead of honoring her for being this big, the industry should point out to her that she’d be dead shortly if she didn’t lose some weight. Also then, the foul-mouthed and outspoken radio host stressed that he believed Sidibe couldn’t actually have a successful career before her because her weight narrowed down too much the roles she could be cast in.
