Jessica Simpson is a mommy again. The former singer turned incredibly successful fashion designer has just given birth to her second child by fiancé Eric Johnson, a baby boy they named Ace Knute Johnson.

Us Weekly confirms the happy news, reporting that Ace was born via C-section, in Los Angeles, on Sunday, June 30.

While most of Jessica’s fans probably knew already that she was going to name her son Ace Johnson, the choice of “Knute” is definitely a surprise.

A rep for her offers an explanation for the unexpected choice, with the aforementioned publication writing that, “Ace's middle name honors dad Eric's Swedish paternal grandfather, Knute Johnson.”

“Ace Knute (pronounced Ka-nute) Johnson has arrived! Mom and baby are doing great. Jessica, Eric and Maxwell are thrilled to welcome the new addition to their family,” Simpson’s publicist adds for Us Weekly.

Maxwell is Jessica and Eric’s daughter. Simpson became pregnant with Ace months after giving birth.

In a March interview with Ellen DeGeneres, she revealed that the second pregnancy was more or less an accident, in the sense that they threw all caution out the window and were afterwards quite shocked to find out they were expecting again.

Also then, she compared the two pregnancies and said that the first time around had been more fun, as we reported at the time.

“This pregnancy is the complete opposite. Like with Maxwell, I felt amazing. Like I could do everything, eat everything. Do whatever I wanted. I had a lot of energy. This time around…I’m like exhausted. Eating Tums. That’s my snack of choice,” Jessica told Ellen.

If Simpson’s first pregnancy and delivery is any indication, fans should probably expect a photoshoot with baby Ace in a few weeks’ time.
