After giving birth and spending most of her time with her family, Jessica Alba is preparing to make her splashing return to the movie industry – although she never actually stopped working altogether, but has kept a rather low profile as of late. Moreover, the stunner is determined to also make her comeback to the comedy genre, with a part in “Little Fockers,” for which negotiations are currently underway, Reuters reports.

The third installment of the highly appreciated comedy will be directed by Paul Weitz, brother of Chris Weitz, who has just wrapped work on the much-anticipated “Twilight” sequel, “New Moon,” with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart as leads. “Little Fockers” is said to pick up where the 2004 “Meet the Fockers” left off, and will feature Alba as a femme fatale – granted negotiations go well and she gets the part.

“Jessica Alba is becoming a Focker. The actress is in negotiations to join the Ben Stiller / Robert DeNiro comedy ‘Little Fockers.’ She’d play the role of an attractive pharmaceutical rep whose looks wreak havoc on male characters in the story. Paul Weitz is directing the third installment in the successful Universal and Tribeca Productions franchise. Production is set to begin in the next few months, with a 2010 release date likely.” Reuters says of the third installment.

From the details available at this point, “Little Fockers” will make for an excellent family movie, although some irreverent humor is to be expected, given what fans already know of “Meet the Parents” and “Meet the Fockers,” the previous two films. Ben Stiller will return as Gaylord Focker and Teri Polo as Pamela Byrnes, who are now proud parents, as it was announced at the end of the previous film. John Hamburg, a guy familiar with the story, wrote the last version of the script for “Little Fockers.”

As also noted above, although spending more time with her family, Alba has two other films completed and readying for release. She has just finished shooting for Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete,” based on the faux trailer that ran with “Grindhouse” upon release, and for Garry Marshall’s romantic comedy Valentine’s Day,” also starring Bradley Cooper, Taylor Lautner, Taylor Swift and Jennifer Garner.
