Jesse James’ first official, alleged mistress, Michelle “Bombshell” McGee, apologized to Sandra Bullock saying she wished she (Sandra) did not have to deal with the pain of separation in such a public way, though it was she (McGee) who sold her story to the media. Now, it’s Melissa Smith’s turn to say she’s sorry in a letter she wrote and sent to the Oscar-winning actress by fax, and which ended up online over at TMZ.

Just like McGee before her, Smith too is open to the idea of sitting down with Sandra, giving her an explanation and then more apologies, in the idea that this would help the star better cope with the scandal and the divorce. Consequently, in the letter, Smith tells Bullock how deeply sorry she is for all the inconvenience she caused by sleeping with her husband, and then extends an olive branch: if Sandra wants to talk, she’s game.

“Dear Sandra, I’m sure you’re wondering why I’m writing this letter to you. I felt I needed to reach out to you and tell you how deeply sorry I am for everything that you’ve been through. And I nothing nothing I can say in this letter i sgoing to make the pain of my actions go away. But I sincerely wanted to take a moment to personally apologize to you,” the mistress begins the letter by saying. Later on, she says she’s aware of the futility of her action, as chances of Sandra actually answering the letter are slim to none – completely understandable, on the other hand.

“My actions of engaging with a married man are unforgiveable. I never meant you any harm. I compromised my beliefs on several occasions and as a result, will never forgive myself. I know that nothing I can say will take back the hurt that my actions caused. From the bottom of my heart, I hope you accept my sincere apology. Please contact me if you wish to discuss on the phone or in person. My deepest regrets, Melissa Smith,” the letter further says.

So far, Smith has kept a very low profile in the media, as compared to McGee, who’s milking the scandal for all it’s worth. This could mean that she’s actually honest in her letter – though, according to TMZ, that doesn’t change the fact that she’s too audacious for having written it.
