Even if the world is yet to forgive Jesse James for cheating on and breaking Sandra Bullock’s heart, he doesn’t have a problem with it because, in his own words, he owned up to the mistake and faced consequences like a man.

In a new interview for the Kyle and Jackie O show on an Australian radio station, James opens up (again) about his divorce from the Oscar-winning actress and how it came to be after several of his mistresses stepped forward to speak of their affairs.

Despite what the media might say, James insists he handled the whole scandal “like a man,” owning up to the mistake and then facing the consequences of his choice.

He did not attempt to launch a PR campaign to clear his name, he did not speak to the press about the scandal and, most importantly of all, he did not lie to Sandra, he claims.

With all that, he was still vilified by the American media.

“It was pretty painful to like talk to someone and know that you’re, like, the next words out of your mouth are gonna devastate their life,” he says of breaking the news of his infidelity to Sandra.

When he came clean with his ex, his so-called friends scattered “like cockroaches, man,” running away from him – even so, he braved the world almost alone.

“The media portrayed it as like this big huge negative thing, but, man, if anything I got more support from anyone else because yeah, guess what I cheated on my wife, but you know what – so do a lot of other people,” James says.

“You know, does that mean I’m the dev… does that mean I’m satan, you know? I don’t think so,” he underlines.

I made a mistake, and I’m sorry for it and I owned up to it. I didn’t lie about it, I didn’t try to do any kind of B.S. like you know, PR campaign or whatever. I said ‘Hey, you know, I did it, I’m sorry I made a mistake,’ you know,” James explains.

“I owned it like a man. I took all the abuse for it, which nobody does,” he adds, stressing that he’s long forgiven himself, especially because of the way he handled the entire scandal.
