14 DAY TRIAL // The “Twilight” phenomenon has generated countless parodies and spoofs in the two years since it first broke. After the immensely popular Jimmy Fallon episodes of “Robert Pattinson Is Bothered,” Jimmy Kimmel is also getting in on the Twilight action – and he does so with the help of none other than the cast of MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” Ted Casablanca of E!’s The Awful Truth reports.
A handful of stills from a spoof that will be featured on an upcoming episode of Jimmy Kimmel have been released and, from the looks of things, it’s bound to be quite hilarious. Permatanned Snooki is now playing Bella Swan, dressed in a canary yellow dress and her trademark updo’ – and, of course, that unmistakable pout. The Situation is Edward, a part for which he actually had to agree to wear face makeup to look paler. Luckily for “Jersey Shore” fans, there was no restriction as regards flashing his abs. Pauly D is Jacob.
“The uber-tan and always hilarious cast of Jersey Shore is taking to Jimmy Kimmel Live! to show off some major acting chops. Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino and DJ Pauly D are among the cast members channeling their inner mope, vampire and werewolf for Jimmy Kimmel’s Twilight special, ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart.’ […] ABC’s released some promotional shots for the sure-to-be-hysterical reenactment, which airs Wednesday at 10 p.m,” Casablanca writes.
“What’s even better is that Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner were all in tow at the taping, filmed last week, and will no doubt have some priceless reactions to the absurdity of the Shore spoof. We all know how quick on his feet Rob can be on late night television! Now, the two trios represent completely opposite ends of the entertainment spectrum. One is all caught up in sweeping intrigue, romantic mystery, dark angst and painfully perfect hair. And the other... is Jersey Shore! Also, with totally [awesome] hairdos and funny-as-hell entanglements of all kinds,” the report further reads.
As also noted above, the Jimmy Kimmel special, “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” airs today. The “Jersey Shore” segment will also be included in it: until it premieres, we’ll leave Twilight fans with the first stills for the spoof and the promise of more details soon enough.
