The Vienna tribute concert that Jermaine Jackson wanted to do in honor of his late brother, the King of Pop, and where he was to perform a duet with him, fell through as stars did not wish to attend. Now, Jermaine has other plans of keeping Michael’s memory alive, via a dance show that will feature iconic moves that Michael created and that have gone to make history, the Daily Star informs.

Not only will Jermaine personally see that he picks the best dancers in the UK for the show, but he will also be featured as a judge on it. It’s not known yet whether auditions for the show have already started or not, but what is certain is that the “Move Like Michael Jackson” televised competition will air on BBC3 later this year. Jermaine, for one, vouches that this is the best means to keep Michael’s memory alive, like the ultimate tribute to him.

“Michael was a superb dancer who inspired people across the world to master his moves and create their own unique routines. I’m really excited and delighted to be part of this show and look forward to finding the most talented and inspiring dancers.” Jermaine says for the British media, as cited by the aforementioned publication. What happens to the dancer who wins the competition, whether he or she will be helped to move on to bigger projects, as is usually the case with this type of shows, is yet to be announced.

However, the recent project does fall in Jermaine’s plans of doing all that he can to keep Michael’s legacy alive, as he announced last week, when he accepted the lifetime-achievement award on Michael’s behalf at the MOBO 2009 awards. Of course, initiatives like this one have also sparked speculation of Jermaine trying to capitalize on his much more famous, more talented and with a much wider fanbase brother, but whether that truly be the case is not up to us to decide.

“My brother was everything to me. He was a wonderful artist and a wonderful human being. I’m here to do what I can, it is part of our responsibility as a family to continue his legacy and keep it alive. It’s a very special night but it’s still very tough. Just to be here at the MOBO awards is for my brother and to keep the music going.” Jermaine said the other week at the MOBO awards.
