Jenny McCarthy, you’re so busted! One year after coming on board ABC’s The View as co-host, in the hope that her presence and occasionally controversial remarks might boost ratings, Jenny has been let go, along with Sherri Shepherd.

The other day, Jenny explained what happened, going the extra length to shut down all talk that she’d been fired because she didn’t deliver the ratings boost that was expected of her.

Trying to save face, she said she’d been in negotiations for another offer and that she’d finally accepted it, to the detriment of The View, because she would finally get the chance to talk without interrupting anyone else.

She even invited the viewers of The View to tune in for her new show, and change allegiances.

It was a good effort on her part, trying to downplay the drama that must have gone down behind closed doors, but it is now being undermined by Jenny herself – and her new interview with New You (quotes via People magazine). Taken some weeks before she was told she was let go, it shows just how she felt about being on The View.

“Believe it or not, I think I’m still on The View,” she says, when asked where she sees herself in 20 years’ time. “I love the show. I’m doing so much work to improve myself – signing up for critical thinking courses and doing all my media training. I want to be at the top of my game, and when I’m 60 I want to still have a face that moves.”

So either Jenny is being very diplomatic about something that has already happened (which doesn’t sound like her) or she totally had no idea she would be fired. If so, she just got busted for lying about it.
