14 DAY TRIAL // Funnyman Jim Carrey and former glamour model Jenny McCarthy announced their separation in April this year, ending a 5-year romance on reasons not disclosed. Months later, they’re giving it another shot.
The two were long considered the oddest couple in showbiz but they seemed to prove they were just right for one another precisely because they were so different.
This is why news of them breaking up came as a shock both to fans and industry insiders. After the split, Carrey also seemed to have a breakdown of sorts on Twitter, ranting for days.
Though neither ever mentioned the reason for the split, word has it it was Jenny who called it off because she could no longer deal with Jim’s bouts of depression.
Now, Star magazine says, the former glamour girl has decided to give her and Jim’s romance another try.
“In late August they met up in LA – and have been talking almost daily ever since, says a source,” the tabloid writes.
“Jenny has told Jim that she missed him, and he didn’t want to end it in the first place. Jenny now thinks she may have rushed into breaking up with Jim. He can be hard to deal with, but he can also be so sweet and loving and fun,” the source explains.
So, they decided to try life as a couple again and see whether they can’t overcome the obstacles together.
However, Star says, there may be other obstacles that need overcoming as well, like the new people in their life right now.
“Jim has been seen out with a stunning brunette, while 37-year-old Jenny – who has gushed about Jim’s deep bond with Evan, her autistic 8-year-old son from a previous marriage – has been dating former fitness model Jason Toohey since June,” the tab writes.
As per the same source, both Jenny and Jim are determined to not let anything stand in their way – and their friends and family also believe they were made for each other.
“Jim’s daughter, Jane, had urged Jenny to take him back all along. Everyone in their circles agrees that Jim and Jenny belong together,” the source notes for Star.
