Fans of the medical drama “House M.D.” know that, sometime in the sixth season, one of the regulars, Cameron, leaves for reasons that won’t be disclosed here, just in case there are still viewers who didn’t get to that part yet. At the time, it was said Jennifer Morrison would not return to the show, which turns out to not be entirely accurate as she’s about to make her comeback later on, Michael Ausiello of The Ausiello Files has learned.

As we also informed you at the time, it was Ausiello who first broke the story that Morrison (Cameron) was about to become the first member of the original team of Dr. House to walk. This time, he brings good news, having talked to the star and learned that Cameron will make another appearance, one that, she says, should shed light on everything that happened so far. Moreover, her comeback will bring some much-needed closure.

“‘The audience is going to get the information they were looking for,’ says the actress, who declined to confirm the exact length or timing of her return except to tease that it occurs during a ‘really smart episode.’ As for the circumstances surrounding her surprising departure, Morrison is more forthcoming, eager to make it clear that the decision to leave was not hers. ‘I love the show, and I love [Cameron],’ she insists. ‘Under no circumstances would I ever decide on my own to leave.’” Ausiello writes after talking to the actress.

This, of course, begs the question: what happened to prompt her departure from the show, especially at such a time that it took everybody by surprise? “She recounts: Executive producers David Shore and Katie Jacobs ‘came to me as we were leading up to episode 8 – which is the episode where I left – and said, “This is where we see the show creatively going, and [we’re writing you out].” And they very generously said, “We wanted to let you know so you knew you were available for other things, should they be offered.” As far as I knew, there was nothing more.’ Opportunity ended up knocking on Morrison’s door soon after: She was cast in the Broadway revival of The Miracle Worker,” Ausiello goes on to say.

Though the star doesn’t offer more details about the length of her comeback, she makes it clear that Cameron’s departure was for good, and not just a trick to boost ratings. She’s not sorry, though, because working on “House” for the past six years has been the most wonderful experience of her career thus far, so she can’t but respect the producers’ decision as regards the twist of events.
