Jennifer Love Hewitt has curves and she’s proud of them. Featured in the latest issue of Women’s Running magazine, the actress reveals details about her workout routine and how running helps her keep her weight in check.

However, running is not all that Jennifer does to stay in shape. Besides keeping to a healthy and balanced diet, she also does Pilates and yoga for strength and flexibility.

Mixing it up also helps her avoid a routine that might become too boring.

“My mom was a runner. I enjoy running, but she was a runner. She loved it and was able to go miles and miles and miles, you know, was crazy about it. The first I did a big run was the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon Los Angeles [in 2010],” Jennifer says of how she too got into running.

Since then, she’s been running to stay in shape – but also because she can’t imagine life without this sport’s benefits anymore.

“It was a blast – I absolutely loved it. What you put your body through is incredible, how sore you are the next day is quite crazy. But the benefits of it, cardiovascular-wise, body-wise, toning-wise, all of that, there’s nothing really that gets you in shape like [a race],” she says.

At the same time, Jennifer says she’s always mindful not to lose her curves with sports and dieting: she wants to be fit and toned, but she does running only to keep her “badonk-a-donk” pert and rounded, not to lose it altogether.

There was a time when Love Hewitt was always in the headlines for her weight.

In this new interview, she says she’s learned to live with the attention, having finally understood that, in her particular line of work, you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t, as the saying goes.

“I’m an actress, I live in L.A., I work in Hollywood. But I’ve learned that if you’re too skinny, they’ll say something about it. If you’re not skinny enough, they’ll say something about it. I just try to feel good in my own skin as much as I can,” she says.
