Part of the deal in landing a World Cup Anthem is having to perform it live at the Opening Ceremony where everyone can sing along. Sadly, this year, it looks like people won't be enjoying Jennifer Lopez singing on stage her “We Are One” with Pitbull and Claudia Leite.

FIFA has announced that Jennifer Lopez will not be performing at the Opening Ceremony in Brazil that is set to take place on June 12, due to “production issues.” If four years ago, people sang with Shakira to the tune of “Waka Waka,” this year there will be no Jenny from the block shaking her hips on stage.

The announcement confirms that the task of performing the World Cup anthem will be left to Claudia Leite and Pitbull, despite the fact that the former, a local singer from Brazil, had only a couple of verses in the original song as most of the female vocals were provided by Lopez.

We are left to guess what the “production issues” that prevent Lopez from performing are, but we can speculate on a number of issues. From money problems with the fee to scheduling conflicts, since Lopez also has a new album to promote these days and even security issues, it's all up for interpretation.

Last week, Lopez also split up from longtime boyfriend Caper Smart, although that could hardly be the issue here, since the report said that the two had been apart for some months. There are few things in a musician's career that could stop him or her from skipping on such a performance, but Lopez might have accidentally stumbled across it.
