14 DAY TRIAL // Never mess with Jennifer Lopez. The singer, now promoting the latest season of American Idol, as well as her own talent series, Q'Viva: The Chosen, graces the cover of V Magazine, the Sports issues.
It's probably safe to say that those of you who have become accustomed to seeing JLo only as a glamorous diva will probably be surprised by her transformation.
Both on the cover and inside the pages of the magazine, Jennifer is shown in what can only be described as a never before seen outfit.
Dressed in a short top and a pair of padded leather boxing shorts, Jennifer brings her most fierce attitude in the shoot.
She also has greased-back hair and severe makeup, and is donning Prada jackets – that is, in those photos in which she wears regular clothes.
Inside the mag, she talks a bit about her much mediated divorce from Marc Anthony and how, now that she's in her 40s, she's finally learned to take everything about showbiz with a grain of salt.
She and Marc will never be “done,” the star says. Even though they're no longer married, they will always be parents and, because of it, friends for life.
“I mean, we’re parents and friends first. That will be the thread that ties us together. I don’t know if people expect it to be negative just because the relationship didn’t work out,” she says.
That she's now a divorcée isn't the only thing that has changed in her life more recently: she's also matured, to the point where she's more realistic about her expectations.
“You’re not going to hit the target or the bull’s-eye every time. That’s part of it. At the end of the day, I made those choices,” Lopez says.
“I’ve been in the business now, I don’t want to say how many years. You have amazing moments of recognition and success. But at this point in my life, I try to take it all with a grain of salt,” she adds.
