Fresh off the divorce announcement, Jennifer Lopez is opening up to Vanity Fair about her failed married to Marc Anthony and her desire to focus on her career for the time being. She also admits she knows she’s not one of the best singers out there.

Critics have always pointed out that Lopez doesn’t have a strong voice, for which reason she would often rely on lip-synching for her live shows.

Though she doesn’t do that anymore (or, at least, not as often as she used to), Jennifer doesn’t deny that her voice isn’t her strongest suit.

In fact, she tells Vanity Fair, she’s very much aware that it’s working against her at times. Still, she compensates for it to the best of her ability.

“I think I’m a really great performer. I think I’m a really great actress. I feel confident in those things - that’s a better way to say it,” Lopez says for the magazine.

“I’m not as gifted a vocalist as some of the girls that are out there, but I know I communicate,” she adds.

To this, Vanity Fair adds, “and sells a ton of records.” Indeed, though probably only her fans counted on it, Lopez has managed to make a spectacular comeback on the music scene, releasing hit after hit and putting out an album that did not disappoint.

She’s also back to doing movies and has signed several, very lucrative deals, one of which is for the upcoming season of American Idol, for which she’ll get a reported $20+ million check, as we also informed you earlier today.

Lopez will also get her own star on the Hollywood Walk of fame in 2012.

“It’s like all that hard work and now something permanent is going to be there. I made my mark,” she says of the honor.
