Season 14 of American Idol wrapped up last night on Fox, crowning a winner in Nick Fradiani. Towards the end of the evening, the race was tight between finalists Nick and Clark Backham, but as we all know, there can only be one winner with this kind of shows.

Fradiani turned out to be the lucky man to go home as America's latest Idol.

As expected, the final show of the season turned out to be a genuine extravaganza, with A-list performers (Chris Brown, Pitbull) and familiar faces all around.

As you can see in the video below, it also included an explosive performance by the 3 judges, Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr., who did a cover / medley of Rihanna’s “Diamonds” and Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven.”

It's not uncommon for the judges on the panel to perform live on special occasions, but this time, they seemed determined to outdo themselves. You will see for yourself in the video below if they were successful in that.

A few days ago, Fox confirmed that the next season of the singing competition, its 15th, premiering in January 2016, will also be the last. The judge panel will remain the same, and producers have promised a final ride to be remembered - and that will do justice to a show that practically wrote history with its contribution to both music and television.
