Jennifer Lopez has quite the reputation of a diva but that's not to say that everything about her is cold and calculated. Quite the contrary, actually, as her recent performance showed fans, when she burst into tears in concert.

As we also informed you at the time, reports said JLo got extremely emotional onstage when speaking about love and eventually walked out sobbing – and never came back.

Since the outburst occurred after dancers looking like her exes did a routine, it was believed Jennifer had given in to tears because of her failed marriage to Marc Anthony and her alleged inability to find a man to spend the rest of her life with.

That's not true, Lopez explains in various statements cited by the Daily Mail. The outburst was the result of a combination of factors, including getting personal with her fans, thinking of her babies and seeing her mother – but definitely not because she remembered her exes.

Either way, Jennifer doesn't deny the moment was a very emotional one for her, as the video below, embedded at the end of this article, will also confirm.

“You know what it was? I was standing there and I realized that I did bare a little bit of my thoughts in this song and I acted it out kind of for the audience,” the singer and American Idol judge says.

“And the way they received it was very touching. I think that they felt what I felt, which was that I'm just a girl like everyone else,” she explains.

In a separate statement, Jennifer insists she's no different from all other women out there, even if she happens to be so famous.

“We wanted to do a section of the show that talked about love. And through it, I go through all the different moments of my life. At the end of the day it's a journey,” Lopez says.

“It's about love, It's about loving yourself. The audience saw me being open so they saw it was a regular person like everybody else. I have feelings like everybody else. My life gets great and gets not so great sometimes. It is what it is,” she admits.

Far from judging her for her emotional breakdown, fans have found in it one more reason to appreciate her more: showing real emotion in front of so many people takes a lot of courage, they say.
