Diva forgets to plead the fifth, answers all questions with honesty

Jennifer Lopez is now promoting her brand new album, “A.K.A.,” and she continues to give interviews in which she talks candidly about a variety of topics, from her music (of course), her love life, her famous exes and, as of her most recent one, that Mariah Carey feud that’s been going on for years.

The thing with that feud, Jennifer explains on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live on Bravo, during the Plead the Fifth segment, is that, if it exists, it’s entirely one-sided. She has nothing against Mariah, she says.

The second video embedded below is the one that’s believed to have started the feud: it’s an interview of Mariah with a German station, with the reporter asking her about two other major female artists she was up against, Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez.

Mariah praises Beyonce for being an accomplished singer, songwriter, and dancer, acting as if the name “Jennifer Lopez” hadn’t even come up in conversation. Asked once more about JLo, Mariah says, “I don’t know her.” This has since become a famous meme online.

But that’s as far as the “feud” goes, Jennifer says, as you can see in the first video right after this article. The Plead the Fifth segment means that she was supposed to answer all questions truthfully, except for one, on which she could choose to “plead the fifth” and not answer.

“I don't have a feud against her at all. I know from back in the day, I've read things that she's said about me that were not the greatest, but we have never met. Like, we don't know each other. I think it's kind of from word of mouth of things that have happened in the past that I'm not really aware of. But I don't know,” she says.

As it happens, Mariah is actually one of Jennifer’s favorite singers, she continues. She would love it if they could meet and they’d become friends, she says. That’s undoubtedly a lovely sentiment but, if what is said online about how Mariah hates her is true, it will probably never happen.

On the same segment, Lopez talked about her famous exes, ranked the performances in bed of dancers, singers, and actors (and ruled that, from experience, those working in music made the best lovers), and also talked a bit about Ben Affleck, her former fiancé who is now married to Jennifer Garner.

Yes, she says, she did get him to dress better.

“I did kind of like, say, ‘You're a movie star! You should wear a suit! You should do this with your hair!’ For sure. I mean, I do that,” Jennifer explains. “By the way, guys do that to girls, too: ‘I like that dress better than the other dress.’ He was into it. He didn't do anything he didn't want to do... He had some good fashion moments when he was with me!”

She says that last part with a proud grin on her face. Check it out.
