Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin may no longer be a couple, having split in 2014 after 11 years as spouses, but that’s not stopping them from being the best of friends and spending a lot of time together.

This is more than just a case of putting up appearances or making efforts for the sake of the children, of whom Gwyneth and Chris have 2. According to Radar Online, the Oscar-winning actress is so determined to make the transition from the split as amicable as possible that she’s initiated plans for a couples’ retreat stay with his girlfriend and her own new beau.

Gwyneth wants Jennifer Lawrence to “meet the whole family”

Chris and Jennifer Lawrence started dating in mid-2014 but, according to reports, split in October after only 4 months because of their hectic schedules. If work was not an issue, Chris’ relationship with Gwyneth certainly was, with some media outlets claiming that Jennifer thought his ex was too medley and too present in his life.

Gwyneth too couldn’t stand Jennifer, it was said; she considered her a younger version of herself, but thought that Chris had traded down on her. If we’re to believe the rumors, sparks would have flown if these 2 women ever happened to share the same space.

In reality, they’re quite civil, this new report claims. In fact, Gwyneth wants them all to hang out together and meet properly, for the sake of the kids. That includes her new beau Brad Falchuk, of course.

“Gwyneth recognizes it’s time for Jen to meet the whole family, and she wants Chris to be there for Brad’s first proper bonding experience with the children,” a source explains. “The plan is to spend a week together in Hawaii, as soon as all their schedules permit, but definitely before the end of summer.”

Admittedly, Lawrence isn’t exactly psyched about the plan because she sees it as Gwyneth’s way of controlling Chris’ life even after divorce, but she will probably end up accepting the offer, for the sake of her relationship.

Conscious uncoupling

When Gwyneth and Chris, until then one of the most solid couples in showbiz, announced their separation, they didn’t do it in the traditional way.

The Oscar-winning actress announced it on her Goop page, in a post that didn’t even mention the words “divorce” or “separation,” but spoke of “conscious uncoupling” instead.

The phrase became the trendiest thing to say online shortly after, but not for the reason you’re probably imagining. While Paltrow would later say she chose it because it was less negative than those 2 other terms mentioned above, the Internet perceived it as pure pretentiousness. So Gwyneth became the butt of many jokes.

If this new report is true, it seems that she meant all she said at the time, about her split from Chris being amicable and unlike what you would expect from a separation.
