Since before Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult were confirmed for the upcoming film “Equals,” when their involvement in the project was just a rumor, various tabloids claimed that Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas’ girlfriend of almost 3 years, was afraid that he might cheat on her with Kristen.

According to insiders, Jennifer thought she had good reason to worry considering that Kristen was caught and publicly shamed for entering into an affair with Rupert Sanders, the director of “Snow White and the Huntsman,” at a time when he was married and she was in a serious relationship with Robert Pattinson.

According to Jennifer herself, speaking to the latest issue of Marie Claire, the mere thought that Kristen would do this to her is amusing.

“There was something in a magazine, and I was like, ‘Oh, my God, that’s hilarious,’ because Kristen and I are friends. I actually texted her a picture of it and was like, ‘Just so you know, this is absolutely true’,” the actress explains.

She doesn’t say any more on the topic but, from what she says when asked about her relationship with Hoult, fans are to understand that they have complete faith in each other. They’re also unlike most couples, in that they “mutually ignore each other” when they’re away on work.

“Not completely, but neither of us gets mad when the other doesn’t text back or call. Life’s super-busy. Obviously you know what they’re doing, and you trust them. We’re so young that it would almost be like if we lived in the same city, what would happen? We’d be living together. At least this way he’s in the same boat as I am: We can go out and have our own lives and know that we have each other,” Jennifer explains.

In the same Marie Claire interview, the Oscar-winning actress also talks about her life in the spotlight, achieving fame through acting and how she’d give it up as long as she’d still be able to shoot movies, fearing she might have outstayed her welcome because of the overexposure she gets, and how she would never trust a girl if she didn’t have girlfriends.

Jennifer Lawrence will be seen next on the big screen as the very dangerous, shape-shifting Mutant Mystique in “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” out on May 23. The full Marie Claire piece is available at the link and should qualify as a must-read for all her fans.
