A newly slim and more fabulous than ever Jennifer Hudson has recently revealed she’s the latest celebrity spokesperson for the Weight Watchers programs. As photos show, she’s already shed the pregnancy weight and then some, but she’s still a long way to go until she attains her fitness goal, which is, as People magazine puts it, to bounce a coin off her backside.

As fans know, ever since she left American Idol, Jennifer Hudson has gone through several changes, as far as her weight is concerned, with the most recent one being the most shocking. First, she gained weight for the part in “Dreamgirls” that got her an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, only to lose it in time for the movie’s premiere. After that, she became pregnant and gained a few pounds again. Now, she’s back to slim – and looking to shed even more weight.

“Even before becoming pregnant and gaining 35 lbs. with son David Otunga Jr., Jennifer Hudson hated running and wasn’t a huge fan of the gym. But as soon as she got her doctor’s OK to start working out, the former American Idol star met up with L.A.-based trainer, Harley Pasternak, to start slimming down for her role in an upcoming film on Winnie Mandela. She got her diet on track by starting with Weight Watchers in January –recently debuting as their newest spokesperson. And their aim was specific, Pasternak says,” People magazine writes of Hudson’s journey so far.

“‘Our goal was to bounce quarters off her [backside]!’ Pasternak, author of The Five-Factor World Diet, explains ‘We had to start off with simple work-outs.’ With a focus on images of Winnie Mandela at her fittest, Hudson started off with a 25-minute circuit-training routine of cardio, lunges, shoulder presses, and ab exercises five days a week. Eight months later, she’s worked her way up to 50-minute routines, now including 25 additional minutes of cardio. ‘Unprompted, she’ll start running when I’ve just asked her to walk!’ says Pasternak. And how’s the payoff coming along? ‘I think she looks fantastic,’ says Pasternak. ‘She loves the way she looks but she really feels great’,” the publication further says, citing the trainer.

Speaking about Weight Watchers just recently, the singer revealed that she did not see the program as a diet but rather as a lifestyle change, for focusing on health first and foremost and only after that on weight loss. Jennifer is now more “educated” about food and exercises portion control. That, together with the strenuous exercise she’s been getting on a regular basis, will undoubtedly help her attain her goal sometime soon.
