Jennifer Aniston has had more than her fair share of tabloid media, with countless stories dwelling either on her breakup from Brad Pitt (which continues to apply to this day) or on her allegedly disastrous love life ever since. Far from being upset over it, Aniston proved at last night’s Women In Film ceremony that she, out of all people, was in on the joke, as People magazine can confirm.

Dressed in a body hugging silver Prada dress and looking better than ever, the actress took the stage to receive the WIF Crystal Award for expanding the role of women in the entertainment industry. She addressed the mostly-female audience by showing that she has still retained the sense of humor that made her such a favorite with audiences back in her “Friends” days, joking about how career mirrored to perfection her personal life.

“I’m trying to be more careful than I have been in the past about the titles of movies that I choose to be in. It’s funny – I kind of noticed something a couple years ago that there seemed to be this strange parallel to the movies I was doing and my life off screen. It started with, well, ‘The Good Girl.’ Then that evolved into ‘Rumor Has It,’ followed by ‘Derailed,’ and then there was ‘The Break-Up.’ And then on the lighter side was ‘Friends with Money,’ which I felt was a bit on the nose. So if any of you have a project titled ‘Everlasting Love with an Adult, Stable Male’…” Aniston told the audience who was literally choking with laughter.

All jokes aside, the actress then moved on to show her appreciation for being offered the award by saying that it all started with “Friends,” which is her best career moment to date. Being offered the Crystal Award for expanding the role of women in showbiz was simply the cherry on top of what has proven to be one amazing ride, Aniston added with a touch of nostalgia at recollecting the long-running TV comedy series.

“For years I got to go to work every day and I laughed and I played on the set with an unbelievably funny and creative team, both behind the scenes and in front of the camera.” the actress said. “To go from that experience, which honestly was the highlight of my life, to then be here standing in front of you being honored for my work in film and being allowed that transition is truly quite humbling.” Jennifer Aniston concluded before returning to her seat.
