Jennifer Aniston is so famous for her stylish and always impeccable hairstyle that, when she makes the smallest change to it, she’s bound to grab headlines. Imagine the shock for her fans upon seeing her with dark hair and long bangs in the trailer for “Horrible Bosses.”

They shouldn’t fret, though, she didn’t really cross over to the dark side: it’s just a wig. In a recent interview, Aniston reveals she was the one who insisted she changed something about her trademark look.

She even describes the brunette wig as a sort of a risk she took to make the character more believable. She actually went against studio’s wishes to see it done.

“We had this wonderful period of time I do call Hair Gate. The studio didn’t want me to wear a wig. I was told, ‘No one will know who you are.’ I said, ‘They will know my name from the credits’,” Jennifer reveals.

The time was right to bring forth a different character from any other she played before, and that had to be immediately noticeable in her looks as well.

“I’m the one who insisted on the dark hair. I was doing a movie right before this and one after that had me looking more like me, and I knew this character had to be different,” she explains.

Even so, the studio was not happy with the change, hoping Jen’s blonde locks and perfect styling would bring even more star power to an already star-studded release.

But Aniston insisted that she wouldn’t do the part otherwise, being convinced that it was precisely what the character needed: she plays one of the horrible bosses, a dentist who keeps harassing her assistant and will not stop until she gets her wish.

“There was just no way I could be saying those words and not look somewhat different,” the actress says of her character’s potty mouth.

In the same interview, the actress rubbishes an ongoing rumor about how the film includes a scene in which she appears almost in the buff, saying she can’t even understand how these reports come to be.
