Though you've prayed, hoped and begged for a “Friends” reunion for years now, you've been cheated and postponed to the point that you won't believe that this darned thing is ever taking place. Well, you just might be right, but fret not, Jennifer Aniston has an alternative plan!

Radar claims that Jennifer is closely considering these days to turn the ‘90s sitcom into a Broadway musical that could bring her back into the limelight. “Jen has completely fallen in love with the idea of a Broadway-ready Friends musical,” a source tells the website.

The preparations are well under way, according to the same insider, “It’s even gotten to the point where she’s had some deep talks with her friend Sheryl Crow about creating ’90s style music for the project, which of course would feature an entirely new crop of actors playing young versions of the now 40-something Friends stars.”

So from this quote we can gather that Aniston plans two major changes: one is a totally different cast that is younger and also to place the action in the past, rather than in the future, indicating that she has no intention to pick things where the show left them off.

Let us remind you that one of the co-creators of the original show said at one point that there would never be a reunion on TV or on the big screen, simply because, in her opinion, the characters had grown up and there was “no need” to change people's conception of their favorites by revisiting the show.

Aniston herself told the press back in 2012 that she doesn't support the idea of a reunion on the big screen, “I can’t imagine how you would do it. It’s not normal. Friends is in your living room; Friends is not in a movie theater. It doesn’t make sense to me. I think it would be going against its authentic self.”

Now something must have changed, because, according to this rumor, she's keen to bring her Friends days to the Broadway stage. She's even began the casting process in her mind!

The same source reveals her first choice of the new cast “Jen has told friends that Glee singing powerhouse Lea Michele would make the perfect Rachel in this project, and it simply becomes a matter of convincing Jen’s good friend, Warner Bros. executive Peter Roth, of the viability of the idea.”

Jennifer is so excited about the idea that could come to fruition without the consent of the show's original creators, that she's jokingly referring to it as her “billion dollar idea.”
