As fans must already know, Aniston is the face of Smart Water, a brand that claims to be pure, excellent tasting and healthy.
As the actress puts it at the beginning of the 2.46-minute clip, today’s market is as such that she can no longer simply show up and say those things.
Instead, she has to cram in the same video elements that may help it turn into “a virus,” she says, apparently not familiar with the concept of a viral video.
The video aiming to go viral begins with the best person to know a thing or two about what it likes to become a superstar online: Keenan Cahill, who has risen to international fame thanks to his YouTube videos.
Puppies are then brought in after the 3 “Internet boys” tell Aniston that animals are all the rage online. There’s also a parrot there, but it won’t push Smart Water, choosing instead to tell “Rachel” that it loves her hair.
Dancing babies are next, an idea that Aniston is not really thrilled about since they also do a bit of dirty dancing and, CGI or no CGI, it’s not ok.
The Double Rainbow guy also makes an appearance, but his reaction to the double rainbow all the way is misunderstood by Jen and she takes him away to confront him.
Towards the end, the star also tries to sell the water by playing on her appeal to male audiences, but she chokes on the water and starts laughing.
Once the video is done, Aniston and the “Internet boys” discuss what to call it, and eventually decide to go for the Jen Aniston leaked home-made tape. After all, if it’s made stars of Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian, there’s no reason why it shouldn’t work for her as well.
