Pizza Hut did not make the cut for the top ten healthiest fast food restaurants – as opposed to McDonald’s – but, at least in the UK, it will have one of the fanciest, most glamorous salads ever known to man. Famous chef Jean-Christophe Novelli has just come out with the Little Black Dressing, the dressing made of genuine gold and champagne, as Metro UK can confirm.

The Michelin-starred French chef has forged an unlikely alliance with Pizza Hut, with the specific aim of bringing some novelty to the old-fashioned salad. Thus, he has come up with the Little Black Dressing, a special type of dressing that also includes a gold leaf flown from Italy and vintage champagne, which will be available for a limited period of time at 10 Pizza Hut locations all over the UK. The aim of this fancy dressing is to introduce the new look of Pizza Hut’s Salad Station.

“For many women a little black dress is the perfect way to make themselves feel effortlessly stylish. I thought it would be great to work with Pizza Hut to put the style into salad and create a really luxurious dressing. It was also a great way to encourage people to try the new ingredients on the Salad Station and be creative themselves.” Novelli says of the special dressing.

The Little Black Dressing also includes, aside from the genuine gold leaf and the vintage Moet, English honey, vanilla, orange oil and Chinese five spice, as per the aforementioned media outlet. While a price has not been set yet for this one-of-a-kind type of salad dressing, it will be available until May 1 at Pizza Hut restaurants in Glasgow, Newcastle, Nottingham, Manchester, Cardiff, Solihull, Plymouth, Bristol, Marble Arch (London) and Leicester.

The dressing, described by Pizza Hut as “light and fruity” is, though, just a preview of what customers have in store. According to several other reports in the British media, the Little Black Dressing is only a first in what will presumably be a long and successful collaboration between the food giant and the renowned chef, as he’s now working on showing customers how to combine the new ingredients at the salad bar.

“And having devised the dressing, Novelli is now working on getting diners to experiment with the 27 new ingredients available at the salad bar. He has developed five combinations customers can make using Pizza Hut’s new ingredients, including a ‘Food for Thought’ healthy salad, and a ‘Naughty But Nice’ indulgent mix, which he says is ‘pleasure without guilt.’” the Daily Mail tells.
