Jay Z has landed the cover of the latest issue of Vanity Fair magazine, which also comes with a very lengthy interview shedding light on various aspects in the music mogul’s life, from his wife and daughter and his business empire, to his days of dealing drugs on the street.

He also explains why he didn’t quit the rap game like he said he would, when he turned 30 and, believe it or not, it didn’t have anything to do with his desire to make even more money.

“I know I said I wouldn’t be doing it when I was 30, so that’s how I know I love it. Thirty years old was my cutoff, but I’m still here, 43 years old,” Jay laughs.

As for the money, he says that, while he knows of every penny that goes into his bank accounts, money is not his motivation for staying in the game and getting involved in so many projects at once.

“I’m not motivated by that... I don’t sit around with my friends and talk about money, ever. On a record, that’s different,” he says.

In the same interview, Jay Z says his wife Beyonce is “gangsta now,” and addresses the rumors that she was never pregnant, having Blue Ivy by surrogate, by lamenting the way people tend to consider celebrities as less human, just soulless figures they can say anything they want about.
