Great news for DC Comics fans who are anxiously awaiting the release of Zack Snyder’s “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” which drops in theaters in May 2016 and will kick off Warner Bros.’ own rival to Marvel’s “The Avengers”: confirmation has come of the actor who will be playing Aquaman.

Since Aquaman is the founder of the Justice League of America and “Dawn of Justice” is meant to be the movie that launches the entire Justice League universe through the inclusion of the most important players / superheroes, fans have been speculating about an Aquaman for many months now.

The name most often thrown in conversation on the topic has been that of Jason Momoa, aka the very handsome gentleman who played Khal Drogo in the first season of HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” Above is a photo to act as a reminder of how brooding and handsome Momoa actually was in that part.

Of course, Aquaman is a blond and Momoa is what you might call a “typical” brunette, from his very dark hair and brows to his perma-tanned complexion. However, these days, Hollywood can do wonders with lots of makeup and smart lighting, so don’t fret on this account.

HitFix confirms the news, stressing on the hilarity of the situation since Momoa has been known to actually lose his cool when constantly pressed for a comment on this Aquaman rumor. Without a doubt, the man can only take so many Justice League questions.

The e-zine also theorizes that the reason he won’t speak up and just confirm it once and for all is because he’s sworn to secrecy, and he’ll only comment on it after Warners drops the official announcement.

“He will be playing the part, and that Zack Snyder has already finalized his designs for the character so shooting can take place soon,” the publication says.

The ending of “Man of Steel” actually set the stage for the introduction of Aquaman, because of the destruction Superman caused to the city in his battle with General Zod. That means that “Dawn of Justice” will show Lex Luthor and Aquaman trying to paint Superman as a villain to the very people he was trying to save in “Man of Steel.”

“Someone else who's not particularly happy about what happened in that film is Aquaman. I'm not sure if that's the actual name they'll use or not, but what we're hearing is that he is not pleased about the World Engine and what it did to the Indian Ocean. He will not have a major role in the film, but he will make an appearance, and it definitely sets him up to return once Snyder gets to ‘Justice League,’” HitFix says.

That movie has already been confirmed for May 2017, with Snyder on board to direct it.

Another recent report claims that Warners has everything planned out with this and that “Dawn of Justice” will actually mark the beginning of a 2-year stretch in which they’ll release no less than 7 movies based on DC Comics: “Dawn of Justice” (May 2016), “Shazam” (July 2016), “Sandman” (December 2016), “Justice League” (May 2017), “Wonder Woman” (July 2017), Flash and Green Lantern team-up (December 2017) and “Man Of Steel 2” (May 2018).
